How To Connect GMK Camera To Wifi?

1. Sign in to App，connect to Wi-Fi and add the device according to the prompts (please bring the device close to the router when configuring).

2. Turn on the GMK camera, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn on/off the unit.

4. The VicoHome APP will search for nearby GMK cameras. Click on the camera that’s detected. If the camera isn’t found, make sure your camera is turned on and emitting the “Ding dong ding dong” sound.

💡 The GMK camera emits a “Ding dong ding dong” sound when it’s in waiting-for-connection mode. If your camera isn’t making this sound, press the power button twice to put it into connection waiting mode. (Sometimes, if you double-click the power button too quickly, it may not respond, so you might need to try a few times.)

💡 If your GMK camera is turned on and making the “Ding dong ding dong” sound, but the APP can’t find it, then your camera may not support AP mode. In this case, please use the QR code mode connection.

6. Click Join, and then wait for the GMK camera to connect to Wi-Fi, which takes about 1-2 minutes.

If you clicked Cancel, it will switch to the QR code connection mode. You can use the QR code connection or exit and start over.

7. After successfully connecting the GMK camera, set a name for it and then click Next Step. The VicoHome app will test the Wi-Fi signal at the camera’s current location. If the signal appears weak, it’s recommended to enhance the Wi-Fi signal or change the location.

Choose the camera’s operating mode. You can change it at any time or click Skip.

How to install a GMK camera?

Choose a good location for your GMK camera, please install the camera in a position where its view is not obstructed and ensure that it is within the coverage of the Wi-Fi network.
The PIR infrared sensor is more sensitive to movement across the camera’s field of view than movement towards or away from the camera.

Share GMK Camera

Sharing a camera allows multiple people to use the GMK Camera at the same time.

1. Click on the “Share ” icon and a QR code will appear in the Device sharing options. Save this QR code and share it with your family or friends.

2. Invitees need to download the VicoHome App and sign in, then open the + in the top right corner, select Add Friend’s Device and scan the shared QR code to add the camera.

Charge GMK camera

App will remind you to charge your GMK camera when the battery is low.

Please use the micro-USB cable to connect to the 5V/1.5A charger to charge the camera. During charging, the camera’s indicator light will turn solid yellow, and when the camera is fully charged, the indicator light will turn solid green. It takes 10 hours to fully charge the camera.

Motion detection settings

GMK cameras are enabled by default for motion detection and alarm notifications. If you need to change the settings, you can do so in the Motion Detection and Notification Setting screen.

In Motion Detection, you can adjust the detection sensitivity and recording time.

Detection Sensitivity: high, medium and low
Duration: The duration of the recording from detection to motion, can be set to 10, 15 or 20 seconds
Cool Down Time: Set the detection cool down time so that no further notifications are sent for one minute after a motion is detected.
Sleep: After start-up, the camera will go into low power mode and will not perform any operations.

GMK cameras are enabled by default for motion detection and alarm notifications. If you need to change the settings, you can do so in the Motion Detection and Notification Setting screen.

If you subscribe to the VicoHome Premium service, there are intelligent settings for Person, PetVehicle and Package.

View alarm notifications

Click on the Library or “” icons to view alarm messages and click on a message to view a video. GMK cameras offer free cloud storage and recorded videos will be deleted after 7 days. If you have an important video, you can click “Download” to save it to your phone.

Local recording settings

To use local recording, you need to insert a memory card, which will only display SD Card Video when inserted.

GMK cameras only support alarm recording, you cannot set up continuous recording. The recording settings are in Motion Detection.

Click on SD Card Video to view the video stored on the memory card. The grey colour indicates that video time is available. If you have just inserted a memory card, you will need to wait until motion is detected before you can view the video.

To use local recording, you need to insert a memory card, which will only display SD Card Video when inserted.

Night vision settings

You can set the night vision function in Lighting Setting to improve the camera’s performance in dark environments.

（White light mode is only available for GMK cameras that support white light or colour night vision.）

Indicator Light: The Indicator Light, once enabled, will be on while the camera is working.
Flashlight Alarm: When activated, a white light will flash when motion is detected.
Night Vision Mode:
- Infrared mode: When the infrared light is activated during night vision, the video will be in black and white.
- White light mode: Activates the white light during night vision and the video is in colour. The spotlight will remain on when motion or live view is detected.
Light Sensitivity Level: After Night Vision is on, the camera will support night viewing to improve its performance in dim conditions.

Activity Zone settings

All videos will still be recorded after setting activity zones, but you will only receive notification of movements in your activity zone（This feature requires a subscription）

The principle of Activity Zone is to judge the objects activity in pointed area with combining intellegent analyse on cloud.
Therefore it’s a cloud-based AI.

How To Reset GMK camera?

When you want to sell your GMK camera or if the camera is faulty, you can try resetting your GMK camera. Resetting the camera will return it to factory settings and you will need to reconnect the GMK camera.

What are the requirements for GMK Camera Wi-Fi?

Please use a 2.4GHz wireless network for your GMK camera. The device does not support 5GHz wireless network. In the meantime, please set the Wi-Fi authentication method to WPA2-PSK or other lower security method. A password is required.

How far away should the GMK camera be from the router?

According to tests, the Wi-Fi connection distance for the GMK camera can normally reach up to 150 metres in open space. However, the actual situation depends on the strength of the Wi-Fi and the environment (thick walls, electromagnetic devices, large metal objects will all cause interference to the Wi-Fi signals). If the camera connection signal is weak or unstable, please place the GMK camera as close to the router as possible.

What is the maximum recording time of the GMK camera?

If you set the duration to “Auto” on your GMK Camera, it will start recording video for up to 3 minutes when someone enters the camera’s field of view.

How do I quickly view GMK Camera videos by category?

Click on the icon in the top left corner of the “Library” page to start filtering GMK Camera videos by category. Select the category you wish to view and then click ‘Save’ to view the video replays.

What should I do if the GMK Camera device malfunctions?

Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to restart the GMK Camera. If there is no response, you can remove the rubber plug on the camera’s button. Press the reboot hole with a pointed object to restart the camera.

Why doesn’t the Wi-Fi name appear when I connect to Wi-Fi?

On Apple devices with iOS13 and above, you need to turn on the “location permission” for the app in the system settings and change it to “allow when using.”

Why GMK camera connection failure?

When you hear the “Wi-Fi Password Error”, please check whether the Wi-Fi password you entered in the App is correct;

When you hear the “Authentication error”, please ensure that your Wi-Fi network is not an enterprise-level network, and the device supports only the network with the security level below WPA-2;

When you hear the“Wi-Fi not found”, please check whether you select or enter the correct Wi-Fi name, and place the device near the Wi-Fi router and ensure that the router is powered on. Please note that 5Ghz Wi-Fi cannot be searched by the device;

When you hear the“Retrieving IP timeout”, it indicates that the number of devices connected to the router in your home is too many to connect more devices. Please remove some of the connected devices that are not commonly used or restart the router to clear the unconnected devices. You may need to contact the router administrator;

When you hear the“Cloud service connection fail”, please check whether your router is connected properly to the external network.
When you hear this error prompt,it is common on the condition of network disconnection or that the selected router in your home is a local area network server. Please ensure that the network connection is normal, and try to temporarily turn off the firewall to connect again.
